What if its the Pop Tarts that go along with the coffee that provided each of these benefits?

What about the icky taste? :(

Ahaha, kidding! This is a great article, very well researched! I'll try not to feel so guilty when I grab my next cup of joe...

Incidentally, just to stir in some controversy, there is now a Coffee Party: http://www.facebook.com/coffeeparty. I haven't looked at it yet, but I do know that where there is tea, coffee will soon follow.

I am doomed! DOOMED! I can't have caffeine--I'll have to eat tons of bananas and beans. But wait. . .is it shown that it's the caffeine in coffee that bestows all these wonderful benefits or is it some other mysterious, as yet unnamed component of the magic bean? Is it just certain coffee? I wonder if these studies have differentiated between the effects of bold versus mild, or coffee shop brew versus instant? If one is sensitive to the negative effects of coffee/caffeine, will they also be susceptible to the positive benefits at low concentrations? Can I substitute chocolate and get the same benefits? Clearly, more of our national budget needs to be earmarked for coffee research and large, nationwide case and clinical studies need to be undertaken. Free coffee for all!
