Saturday the 26th was to be a final painting party at our Clubhouse at 802 South Tremont Street in Oceanside–but here’s a better idea: A party without painting!  Our HQ will have multiple uses to serve writers and the community, but one of them will be to have regularly scheduled open mike nights, so let’s make this the first one.  The paint can wait.

AND it’s a bit more than that.  Bar-b-que at 4:30 and a chance to meet new authors and writers before the open mike night begins at 6:30 and ends at 9:00 with a break in the middle.  Poetry and fiction only, this time around. A Word with You Press will provide the fire on the grill–you provide the fire in the belly!  Bring soda, chips and beer and something to read to your fellow writers not more than 8 minutes long.  Might call it eight minute apps!  We’ll provide dead meat, both read and white, and the best buns on the beach. (Note: you don’t have to bring something to read to us.)  Bring folding chairs if you gottem.

BUT WAIT!!!  THERE’S MORE!  You can have your cake and eat it too!  It is Thorn’s Birthday Party, and he sooooo needs a spanking! (Actual B-day is June 27th.)  Door Prizes of real and questionable value!  Those wishing to contribute to completing our clubhouse can do so anonymously at the door–gift cards from Home Depot or Office Depot will be put to immediate use.
