You must be the change you want to see in the world.” Mohandis Gandhi.

Fellow artists, remember that person from childhood

that believed in you,

encouraged you to follow your dreams?

Remember that person who inspired you,

who provided you with the tools and the teachings

that made you the artist you are today?

Maybe he or she was a parent, or a teacher, or a neighbor.

What you had in this person was a mentor, someone who fostered

your creativity and nurtured you as an artist.

Well now it’s your turn to do the same.

I would like to present The Artist Alcove’s first Art Contest.

We are looking for artists to design a logo for

KidXpress, a community based outreach program of A Word With You Press, that pairs kids with writers and artists.

The program is designed to create enthusiasm for writing and the arts and to help these children

find their gift, their voice.

Please visit kidxpress.org to find out more

about this amazing program and gleam inspiration

for your contest entry!

Please send your designs to: kristy@awordwithyoupress.com.

Each entry will be posted as it comes in.

Kidxpress will own all rights to the logo design.

The contest winner will receive a $100 gift certificate for the

art store of their choosing!

Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness; but direct them

to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.”–Plato.
