Gather round our virtual campfire so I can tell you a story. It’s a tale of honesty and struggle and, ultimately, a happy ending. By the way, has anyone got any marshmallows?

Okay, once upon a time, a man had a great idea – to build an incredibly creative community of writers and artists and readers and art-lookers. He woke from his dream, screamed, “Eureka!” and then waited for the Internet to be invented.

Fast-forward a little and here we are, on the eve of a GREAT ANNOUNCEMENT. For tomorrow, we will reveal the names of those writers whose work will appear in our first A Word With You Press anthology - “The Coffee Shop Chronicles, Vol. 1:  Oh, the Places I Have Bean!”

We have been overwhelmed with your enthusiasm, kindness, support and patience. Especially your patience. We’ve been learning as we go along, piano tuning for a melody we’ve never heard before. Yes, it has taken us longer than we anticipated, but it will be worth the wait. And oh, what music we shall make!

We’ve gone from zero to our community in just four months, generating thousands of hits and creating a little plot of cyberspace heaven. Somewhere that creative writing and visual art can flourish and find an appreciative audience; somewhere that creative people can connect and interact.

And tomorrow, we reach a new milestone. Forget Hogwarts and its sorting hat – tomorrow we share with you the roll call of honor: the writers whose work will feature in our very first anthology.

DON’T MISS IT!

*sits while virtually roasting a marshmallow* Hopefully I'm on this list =) *keeps roasting* How do you like your marshmallow cooked? Rare, medium or burned-beyond-recognition-and-is-more-related-to-carbon-than-sugar?

You'll have to wait for the fanfare tomorrow – front row seats are still available, but hurry.

I can't wait to read the stories in this our first chronicle. They shall be in physical form…no pdf or both? Shall we rest our prying fingers on it and our lingering eyes?

I'm glad we're virtually roasting marshmellows and not someone's rubber sneakers. That's happened more than once in my campfire adventures.

As we indicated a few times earlier on in the contest, we will make a free pdf that those published in the anthology can download. We will make one copy available of hard copy to contestants only at cost plus shipping, and additional copies at retail cost should they want to purchase as gifts for friends and family.

Ok cool beans. I want to rest my eyes on it in Hawaii. I wish it was ready by Monday. Oh well maybe when I'm back from vacation.

I want a seat. I can't wait for the drumroll. I think we'll be hearing all the way across the pond.
