So far I like the first design better. It has more contrast which (for me) makes it more visually interesting. Also, the 'painted over brick' look makes me think of a downtown shop, the kind of place that has been around for years and where a person could go and comfortably enjoy a few cups of hot brew. A place where friends would gather together.

The only thing I would change – on either design – is with the cup itself. The handle needs to be on the other side. Most people are right-handed (I am) and having the handle on the right side allows me to believe it could be my cup of coffee, ready to be picked up. The handle on the left is a subtle suggestion that this cup (and possibly this book) is not intended for me.

Can't wait to see the next design.

While both covers are great, my preference is for the first cover submitted (or posted). I really enjoy the 'downtown' neighborhood coffee shop feel to it. Inviting someone, anyone, to come in and enjoy a cup of coffee while reading for a while. Nice job Ed!

Okay, I lied…I like this one the best, and the fourth one is my second choice. Very good job on all of them, Ed!
