Missing Things by Julie Weinstein
I am without my green bicycle in the mall and missing my underwear. I have red lipstick on my lips. Christmas music is playing. A strange man is saying I look very pretty and he always wanted to be my bicycle seat. I bite my tongue. It tastes like Vodka and clove cigarettes. He hands me $50 to sit on his lap again. I feel the familiar calluses on his fingers. I recognize he is a friend’s brother. She is no friend now. He says we didn’t have sex and he ate my underwear. I tell him dogs do that.
